Uncle John

Uncle John Kuntz  suddenly went home to be with the Lord. Please pray for his family in their time of grief.

As the apostle Paul said, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Cor. 5:8) and that is our hope. The grief and sadness we experience in a loved one’s death is all on this side of heaven, and not the other side, that is for certain.

Yes, Christians grieve, and we should grieve in times like this, but it is not a hopeless grief, rather it is the kind of grief we have at airports when a loved one is going to be separated from us only for time…yes and death is truly only for a time.  The apostle Paul describes the world in a very a different light, as being “without God and without hope…” (Eph. 2:12). Godlessness is hopelessness. And we are not without hope. Death, for God’s covenant children, is simply a step to the fullness of life in the presence of the Lord Jesus in Whom we have placed all of our hopes and confidence.  We know that death is not the end, and so we have a future hope that we see our loved ones again.  We can be comforted by this and the pain is made more bearable.

While this is all true, and we can find comfort in it…the pain of grief is still very real, especially for his wife, mother and kids… so please pray for the Kuntz family.

Give them a hug…

A shoulder…

An ear…

Simply be there.

And thank God for the resurrection of the dead and the hope that we have as covenant children of a faithful father in Jesus Christ.
