The Millennial Generation’s Acceptable Sin
BARTON GINGERICH writes on the The Gospel Coalition blog, “Every human institution and society has its own list of sins and virtues that contradict the law of God. With the rise of the Millennial generation in evangelical churches, a vice is creeping up into the realms of acceptance, indifference, or at least resignation: fornication (i.e. extramarital sex or unchaste living).” Read the whole thing Here.
What is Your Only Comfort?
This year Christians around the world celebrate the 450th anniversary of the Heidelberg Catechism. Here is a link to a new website from the Canadian Reformed Theological Seminary. “First published in 1563, the Heidelberg Catechism has been used by Christians around the world ever since. The Catechism summarizes the major teachings of Holy Scripture in one hundred and twenty-nine memorable questions and answers. Simple yet profound, as well as concise yet sufficient, the Catechism has been appreciated by young and old alike as one of the most clear, helpful and comforting guides into all the spiritual treasures of the holy gospel. The gospel is “the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes” (Rom 1:16). The Heidelberg Catechism helps you discover just how powerful the gospel really is, and “how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ” (Eph 3:18).
