A Song My Dad Wrote
I found an old song my dad wrote. My dad was a conflicted man but he did love Jesus and when he died he knew where he was going. He wrote this song after he broke his back and while he was in hospital. Afterwards he went through some rough times spiritually, but God is faithful and lead him back. He later sang this song at our wedding. It was when he sang this that I became a blubbering mess for the rest of the night… 🙂 Sometimes I like to reminisce.
Heavenly Father
Hold on to my hand
Help me accept
what I don’t understand
Guide me each day Lord
Through these unwanted trials
Heavenly Father I am your child.
I find myself awake nights
Just walking the floor
The pressures of each day
Seem more and more
Thank you for each day Lord
That you’ve helped me through
Heavenly Father, how I love you.
Heavenly father
Hold on to my hand
Help me accept
What i don’t understand
Guide me each day Lord
Through these unwanted trials
Heavenly father I am your child
Strengthen my faith Lord
show me your ways
guide me oh lord
Through each working day
My position in life
is less than I desire
So help me my Father, I am your child.
Heavenly Father
Hold on to my hand
Help me accept
what I don’t understand
Guide me each day Lord
Through these unwanted trials
Heavenly Father I am your child.
