Celebrating Canada Day (and Bacon)
Today is Canada Day eh? The day we celebrate maple syrup, poutine, hockey, beavers, loonies, and our confederation.
Did you know that “Oh Canada” has a missing verse?
Ruler supreme, who hearest humble prayer,
Hold our Dominion in thy loving care;
Help us to find, O God, in thee
A lasting, rich reward,
As waiting for the better Day,
We ever stand on guard.
Today is also Sunday and we will gather with our fellow believers in worship to celebrate the redeeming work of our saviour. Let us remember our nation in our prayers, and perhaps, if you sing the anthem today you will also sing the “missing” verse.
And finally, in celebration of Canada Day and our well-known love of Bacon, I suggest we change the doctrines of Grace from TULIP to BACON…It is a good day to celebrate Canada. From a 5 strip Baconist – Have a Happy Canada Day!
